I have a friend, his name is Jason. He writes theological musings and seems to also pull the most amazing sermon bumpers out of his butt too.

He has started a series of articles that deal with icons and their theological and cultural significance. brilliant stuff and we thought you might want to read it because if anything else you will seriously get a whole lot smarter sounding by just looking at it.

Read Hell Harrower

Here’s and excerpt:

Adam and Eve are not shown to arise on their own; rather, Christ is gripping them by the arms; more bluntly, he is dragging them from their graves, ripping them from the clutches of death. He is pulling them towards himself, but also towards heaven in an upward motion. This movement creates a triangle in the space between them, illustrating that Christ is pulling them into the life of the Trinity.
